Weekend in Pictures

Man this feels like it’s been an extremely long weekend! I feel like we have been constantly running around. Friday we went to a bonfire with Jesse's best friend out at one of his uncle’s houses. I had to make those Mexican rolls for Saturday, so I didn't even go to bed until almost midnight.
So worth it though, they were a HUGH hit!
I had to double the recipe but I forgot to double the spices in it, I only doubled the cream cheese, chicken, and rotel! oops. Anyway, Saturday I worked as usual, and after I went to a Church event with family. Jesse came once he got off work, but sadly it started to rain.
This little cutie is Felicia "Fuzzy"(little cousin who I adore!)

So that night we hung out with our usual ”couple” best friends and ended up watching World War Z..Honestly it was better than I thought it would be.
And to wrap up this lovely jam packed weekend we went to see a movie and now at my grandparents’ house; Sitting on the back porch, sipping warm apple cider and writing. Perfect end to a busy relaxing weekend.

The backyard after the tree was removed and a few more were cut down!

Last week

So I have been MIA for a while. But in my defense we have been sick, and crazy busy with work and spending time with friends! I was going to do a weekend recap on Tuesday but I wasn't feeling good at all. So it was a night of HIMYM and chicken noodle soup with lots of Vicks and NyQuil.

Last Tuesday two weeks ago, a tree fell in my grandparents yard so they were without power!
It was a HUGH tree!

Last Saturday I ended up going out with my parents to see a band play and we met up with one of my best friends and her parents and danced the night away, honestly I don’t think I have ever had that much fun with my mom. We played a game called “Dibs”. Overall it was a good night which is probably why I ended up sick. Go big or go home!

Her face cracks me up!

I apparently do this face whenever I drink, and move
my shoulders up and down repeatedly...

This post isn't anything too fun but I do have a recipe I am going to post. It is Pinterest inspired! Super easy, and very yummy! We called them Mexican Rolls, I also made Rogers Dip and you can find both of those recipe's here.
I will try to do a weekend recap of this weekend. Try being the key word!

Excited

This post is random, but I am way too excited not to share this with ANYONE who is willing to read or listen to me (sorry!) And I have to apologize in advance for those of you who plan on keeping up with my posts in the future.

I make way to many references to this in my everyday life. Just ask my husband(like if someone says they are an architect or know someone who is I automatically reply "like Ted from how I ket your mother. Its a serious problem really lol) BUT we got seasons 1, 3, and 4 for wait for it......
$20 bucks! I know!  Amazing deal (I am clearly way to excited for the little things)

Thanks again Erin for the seasons of HIMYA. You have no idea how much that made my day!

Weekend Recap

Friday: Friday I worked as usual, not a bad day but we stayed pretty busy. After work I went home and made dinner (left over’s from the night before’s pizza casserole). We also got to hang out with Jesse’s best friend that we haven’t seen in FOREVER, couldn’t make it a late night because I worked Saturday morning.

Saturday: I worked Saturday morning, and then after we went to look for a new apartment (no luck what so ever!) and then went home, ate lunch, painted my nails and got ready for the night. We ended up at my parent’s house for a cookout with my aunt and uncle and some cousins. After, we went over to our friend’s house to play pool.

Sunday: we went to church, had BLT’s for lunch and then went to the apple orchard. I love the apple orchard! The cider donuts and apple cider...mmm so yummy! It’s also the spot Jesse and I had our engagement pictures done almost two years ago! I also tried to make spaghetti squash for the first time and it wasn’t too bad.

Spaghetti squash

Take the squash and cut in half length wise (get a good knife and be careful because it’s really hard to cut)

Scoop out the seeds (you can bake them like pumpkin seeds...I accidently burnt mine)

Brush with EVOO and put salt and pepper on it for taste

Put in baking pan and put water in the pan (1/2 full with water)

Bake at 375 for about an hour or until you can easily put a fork into the squash

Let cool until you can easily handle

Take a fork and scrape out the squash (it obviously looks like spaghetti hence the name)

I used spaghetti sauce but you could really do just about anything with the “noodles”

Serve warm.

PS

The texture is a little weird

Its Monday again?

Does anyone else have a bad case of the Mondays? The weekends are way too short, and now that it’s starting to get darker sooner, it definitely goes too fast! On a major plus the leaves are changing which means its fall! Fall is the first of September for me, and officially when I see leaves changing.

Friday I got off work a little after 4(thank God!) and went to my parent’s house for awhile. Picked up a pizza from papa Murphy’s (the cowboy with jalapenos is the best!) to take how and bake and watch my favorite show ever HIMYM (for those of you who don’t know it’s how I met your mother, only the best show ever).
Saturday morning I worked but didn't get off till ten to 1 and was supposed to be off by 12:15. We were slammed! After I met with a friend at Mary’s market for some lunch and to do some major catching up (Kate if you read this I had lots of fun and we will for sure have to do it again only this time with beer!). Went home did some laundry, took a shower and then straightened my hair and got ready for that nights festivities. I didn't do anything too crazy, just went to hear a band with a friend from work and then one of my close friends came out for a drink after work so it pretty much made my night. Sadly I forgot to take any pictures that night.

Sunday is our lazy day. Normally we don’t leave the house, but as it is now football season we will spend most Sundays at my parents or a local watering hole to watch the games. Brought some laundry over to do while the games were going on and spend family time together. Sadly both teams lost.

And then comes Monday (Yuck) which means I have to be an adult again. Luckily work was slow today and I could catch up on some work I've been putting off for awhile. Not much going on right now. Next weekend it will hopefully be a little cooler, because I want NEED to go to the apple orchard very soon; I've been craving the cider donuts and apple cider so bad this past week.

A warning from across the pond..., July 3, 2012

This review is from: Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel Creme 200ml (Health and Beauty)

After having been told my danglies looked like an elderly Rastafarian I decided to take the plunge and buy some of this as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly successful and I nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. Being a bit of a romantic I thought I would do the deed on the missus's birthday as a bit of a treat.
I ordered it well in advance and working in the North Sea I considered myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types...oh my fellow sufferers how wrong I was. I waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise I went down to the bathroom. Initially all went well and I applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen.
I didn't have long to wait. At first there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling I can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. Religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg. Struggling to not bite through my bottom lip I tried to wash the gel of in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a mat of hair. Through the haze of tears I struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen by this time walking was not really possible and I crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief. I yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid of and positioned it under me.
The relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing soon returned .Due to the shape of the ice cream tub I hadn't managed to give the starfish any treatment and I groped around in the drawer for something else as I was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon. I grabbed a bag of what I later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as I did so.I took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my arse. This was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found it's way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running it's engines behind me. This was probably and hopefully the only time in my life I was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths I was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain.
The only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before. unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, arse in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my bell end pushing a sprout up my arse while muttering..." Ooooh that feels good ". Understandably this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as I hadn't heard her come in it caused an involuntary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction. I can understand that having a sprout farted against your leg at 11 at night in the kitchen probably wasn't the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream was didn't improve my status...So to sum it up Veet removes hair, dignity and self respect...:)
