Holidays

Christmas has come and gone and now it’s already New Year’s Eve (well tomorrow)! I can’t get over how fast this year has gone, and now a new one is here. Christmas eve eve I made my cheesy potatoes(Ill post the recipes soon) and Oreo cupcakes for work and was up until about 1:30 am and then had to be to work at 7:45 am till noon. I had 10 customers from 8 am till noon! Talk about a snore fest, but lucky for me, I had a white board to keep me busy most of the morning.
Not the best, but it will do.
So I made the New Year’s white board for work. After work I went home and finished wrapping gifts and took a little nap. I put the cheesy potatoes in the oven and then my family and I went to church for the Christmas Eve service that they have every year. That night after church we had cheesy potatoes and Italian beef (a tradition we have done for as long as I can remember) then my aunt and uncle come over and we opened gifts and watched FireProof. If you haven’t seen that movie I highly recommend seeing it. It is such a great movie with an awesome message.
Christmas day is normally at my other aunt and uncle’s house, but they all got sick on Christmas Eve so it was at my grandparents’ house. So our house was filled with family, lots of food, and great company. We had Christmas with his family and opened gifts with them later that night for dinner.
We went to see The Wolf of Wall Street at the movies…it was OK I guess..There weren't any movies that we really wanted to see.
Work as usual on Thursday and Friday so not much fun there. Friday night after work we went to Janesville, WI for the Holiday Light Show. I LOVED it! It was a little cold, but so worth it. The car ride was about 45 min each way, but we were in the hurry. We got some hot cocoa, walked around and looked at all lights. They were so pretty and we can’t wait to go back next year.

Saturday & Sunday I was so lazy! I stayed in bed all day Saturday (except when I had to go get cat litter) and watched Desperate Housewives, and finished the last season on Sunday.  So today it was back to work, and tomorrow I get off at 4. I doubt we will do anything for New Year’s Eve, but nothing is set in stone yet. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and have a safe and happy New Years!

In sickness and in health

I am finally starting to feel better .These past few weeks I have felt like crap, and just couldn't get up the energy to do a post. So here is a quick update on what’s been going on, which isn't a whole lot
I managed to get strep (for the first time) throat, and felt awful! I am just now starting to feel better and get back to normal everyday life. Jesse picked up some Winter Jack for me and warmed it up in the microwave, which help my throat somewhat. It was sorta like a hot tottie.

Between getting ready for Christmas and the New Year things have been a little crazy at our house.  This year I am helping make Christmas Eve dinner, so I found and tested a recipe for cheesy potatoes that we will have along with Italian Beef. We have had that every year on Christmas Eve for as long as I remember.
Yesterday I worked and then finally got some Christmas shopping done with my grandma. Me and Jess were supposed to take a ride to Janesville but never made it because we were supposed to get a snow storm last night. It didn't end up snowing until later but we stayed home and wrapped gifts instead. We ended the night by watching Were the Millers, and playing with the cat; crazy Saturday night, I know!
Today I got up and baked 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and made cinnamon rolls. Tomorrow night I will make my Oreo cupcakes with homemade cookies and cream frosting, and maybe some Oreo balls. Now however I am going to do some more Christmas shopping and hopefully wrap the rest of the gifts.
Only a few days till Christmas, and I cant wait!

Happy December

Who doesn't love Christmas! I mean really, well I officially baked for the first time of the Christmas season. My yummy Oreo cupcakes, but sadly I got too interested in Clark Griswold’s Christmas rant that I burnt the first batch...
Print of Clark Griswold's Famous Rant
And that is probably one of my favorite lines from the whole movie! So I whipped up another batch before going to bed.
Work has been crazy slow I can hardly stand it! So we I made a “days till Christmas” calendar on the white board. Clearly I need more stuff to do at work. And this was clearly take a day or so ago.
and one of my favorite things about the holidays is I can order my white chocolate peppermint mocha from Starbucks without being judged by my husband when I order it in the middle of the summer, haha. Mmmm its seriously like Christmas in a cup. I could literally have that drink EVERY DAY if he would let me. But with this time of year also comes the peppermint brownie cake pops from Starbucks
and the super yummy candy cane blizzard from DQ which only comes out in December (sometimes) so you best believe I was beyond thrilled when I saw it was back. So now it’s time to sit on the couch, eat my candy cane blizzard and watch Christmas vacation (again), and then the Grinch for the first time this year.
