First blog in the new House

So this is officially the first blog post in our new house! I had to get a new laptop because mine decided to stop working and then we were waiting on internet and furniture, yes we didn’t have furniture for about 3 weeks so we were sitting on lawn chairs in our living room watching whatever we had on DVD. So now we have Internet AND furniture; we are totally living the good life

So we recently started to tile in front of our front door this past weekend, so pictures of the house will have to wait. But for those of you who are friends with me on FB know that we added a new member to the Brewer Family. Her name is Willow; she is an 8-week-old kitten. She was the runt of the little so she is really tiny especially when she is next to our other cat, Lilly.

We didn’t plan on getting another cat, but I couldn’t help it. She is just so darn cute! Today she had her first Vet appointment, she weighed only 1.5lbs, she is tiny!!! Lilly was scared of her at first, but now she wont leave the kitten alone for two seconds.

Not much on the home front right now other than trying to complete projects on our house with what seems to be a never ending list of “to do’s” so here are so pictures of our new kitty, Enjoy!

NOLA

So my best friend Jill and I flew to New Orleans for a girl’s weekend October 2nd through the 5th. This was the first time I have ever been on a plane in my entire life. I have never been to an Air Port either so this was quite the experience. Lucky for me Jill was super supportive and told me to cool my shit when it was needed. Which was only when we took off and landed, flying down to NOLA.

Once we finally got into the air I was ok, but the Jack and Coke helped calm my nerves. Jill took a nap but I was wound too tight to even consider taking a nap. We landed in New Orleans just after 1pm, and holy fish tank! The air port smelled so bad like a fish tank, I don’t know if its because we were so close to the water or what but it smelled so bad.

The airport was super hot and crowded, and it took forever to get our luggage from baggage claim. Once we got our bags we had to go rent a car, on a side note, next time we go back we will not be renting a car but that’s a long story. So after we rented a car we were off to the hotel. Of course not before we drove on the autobahn. I swear the speed limit sign was more of a suggestion, not one car was going 60mph. so Jill’s freaking out in the passenger seat while I’m trying to stay focused.

So we made it to the hotel around 4pm and put everything in the room and decided to take a walk and explore a little bit. We probably walked at least 3 miles Thursday night. We stopped at a restraint called Jax (I Think) and had Brisket Fries and Alligator popcorn. Yes we tried Alligator and I actually liked it.

We were on our way back to the hotel and this giant rat ran in front of us and when I say giant I mean the size of a small cat. This sucker was huge!

So after we got back to the hotel we decided that it would be a good idea to swim and then go to the casino across the street. So we swam until about 10pm and then got ready and went to the casino. We sat at the bar and drank Hurricane after Hurricane, and the thing with those little suckers they sneak up on you. So I was a little drunk, to the point that when we went to leave I kept tell Jill I was ready to cross the street. We stood across the street for about 20 minutes because for whatever reason I didn’t want to cross the street. This was one of those you have to be there moments.

So the weekend flew by in a blur and we had a blast. From this homeless guy trying to put beads on us to trying my first beignets. It was a weekend to remember and I am so glad I got to experience it with my best friend.

More to come

So this post is just an update on some post that are to come, we have been crazy busy lately with the purchase of our new house and getting everything moved in and unpacked. I wont have Internet until the 8th, so I am at my parent’s house right now checking emails and doing this post.

I will be doing a post right after this one about my trip to NOLA from the beginning of October that I never got around to actually writing.

A post with pictures of the house, and please don’t judge but we still don’t have furniture so we have been using lawn chairs for the past 2 weeks. Furniture is supposed to be delivered on the 8th as well so we will see.

And we are doing some projects on the house that I will be doing a post on as well.

So stay tuned and hopefully ill be able to blog more in the new house!

Happy Monday everyone!

Exciting News for the Brewers

Happy October(I know I'm a day early)

So October is a big month for us this year,  we have a lot going on and I couldn't be more excited!

So let's start with what's going on this week...
October 2-5 I am flying to New Orleans with my best friend for a much needed girls weekend.  Mind you I have NEVER been on a plane before so I am a little nervous about that, but it should be a fun weekend either way. I will do a post about the weekend once I get home and get settled in.

So now for the big news.......

In just 16 short days we close on our first home! I have been so excited to share this news with everyone but Jesse and I decided to wait and only tell close friends and family until we knew for sure we got the house.
We did put in an offer on another house and they accepted, but the house would of ended up costing us a ton of money to fix what was wrong with it. So we passed and it's a good thing because I fell in love with "our" house the moment I walked in the door.

So that means we are moving in 24 days, and we will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary in 28 days! Gosh I can't believe how fast everything is moving for us right now! Pictures of the house will be posted after we get moved in so hopefully by November I will have pictures.

Life as I know it

Between work and well work I feel like I have no life anymore! Let's be honest my idea of a good time is working in my garden and day drinking margaritas with my best friend Jill which happens alot! I don't know where I would be without that woman.

So not anything too exciting going on but I do't have a story. I went with a friend from work to see The fault in our stars opening night and ordered some pretzel bits well long story short I really ordered rocks with cheese and I took a bite of one and it broke my top retainer so the next day I had to have it removed and had new impressions done and now I have a clear removable retainer that cost me $150 bucks. Yayyy for nice teeth!

Anyways I'm looking for a second job to make some extra spending money for our (mine and Jill's) trip to New Orleans in October. I am so excited!  its basically one big drinking fest all weekend(it's to help support a charity not just drinking I promise) so believe me when I say October can't come soon enough.

So besides work, gardening, day drinking,  and the usual shenanigans not much is going on in my life. I'm just counting down the days to my "vacation" and trying not to get sick(I was sick last week and most of the weekend).

Happy Tuesday!

Let it go!

Monday I had a half day at work so I got to hang out with fuzzy. I asked her what she wanted to do and she said “I want to see that Frozen movie again” so that’s what we did. My mom, dad, fuzzy, and me went to see Frozen. This girl is so funny! She sang EVERY song, and even quoted parts of the movie. She LOVES LOVES LOVES Frozen. And I have to admit this was the second time I seen the movie and I thought it was better this time. So we sang and she danced and ate popcorn. It was a good day! After the movie it was time for Kylie to come play (fuzzy was asking about her all day).
So Kylie got there and the two of them drew on the chalkboard, made silly faces, watched Mickey Mouse club house, and were just being silly. Fuzzy got picked up about 5 and we went out to dinner, and then ran to Target to get some new Sippy cups. We got home about 7:30, gave Kylie a bath and then watched TV until her mom came to pick her up. I can’t get enough of days like that!

Mini Vacation

Good gravy, can you believe March is almost over!? This year is already flying by! So clearly I am a Hugh slacker with this blog and I hate it because I love to write and I love this blog, but I just haven’t been feeling like writing much of anything lately with the new job and house hunting(which is still not going the way I planned) and just day to day life.
We are still at my parents house (hopefully for not much longer), still working, and babysitting, and just living life! We haven’t done anything too fun lately but I will tell you about our mini vacation. So last Tuesday I worked as usual and it was a very uneventful day and totally dragged (because I was counting down to 5). Well 5 o’clock finally came and believe me when I say I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Jesse picked me up from work and we stopped at Texas Roadhouse for dinner before we hit the road.
I turned on the country music and off we went. He made me turn it off after about half an hour and we listened to the new Kevin Hart comedy on Netflix the rest of the way. We ended up in Northbrook, IL for a late birthday getaway at the Sybaris Hotel just for the night. OH MY GOSH!! The room was so cool! Pool, steam room, Jacuzzi,  And it was a nice getaway for us.

The next morning after checking out we ended up at this little pancake house where I had Oreo Pancakes. That’s right people, OREO PANCAKES! So yummy!  I mean look at these, they tasted even better then they look. After we ended up at IKEA and spent about 2ish hours there before finally leaving and stopping at Portillo’s for lunch and then made the trip home. All in all it was a good little getaway for us and can’t wait to do it again.

Happy February

So it’s already Valentine’s Day weekend, which means I am now officially 22! This post is kind of an update on what has been going on lately in our life.
So for those of you who follow me on FB know I recently quit my job. I took a higher position with a different company and it all happened so fast, not that I am not grateful but it happened a lot quicker than I actually anticipated. So far I love it though and everything is going smooth. My birthday was the 13th, I worked all day then came home to my favorite food; pulled pork BBQ and my homemade cheesy potatoes. So yummy! AND my best friend and her daughter came over for dinner and she surprised me with a cake. Later that night Jesse and I went to see Endless Love for our movie outing. It was really good! But we lucked out because there were only 5 other couples in the whole theater so it wasn't overly crowded. We had a potluck at work for February birthdays and Valentin’s day so I made my Oreo Cupcakes for that. We stayed home for Valentine’s Day this year, which was fine by me. A nice clam night at home watching Netflix and just hanging out with each other. I made mini icebox cakes for a Valentine’s Day treat at home hopefully I’ll get the recipe up soon.
Today my grandma and I gave blood together and then came home. Crazy fun Saturday I know! Any who for my Birthday Jesse got me Naked 3 and I am so stoked! I haven’t used it yet so I asked my dad if I could try it out on him first to see how it would look. Mind you I only wanted to try my eye shadow on him, and he wanted to put the rest on so please by all means enjoy the pictures below, believe me when I say the pictures are nowhere near as funny as being here in person.
So this is what my family does on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Gosh these people drive me nuts but I love them to pieces an sometimes they can be kind of fun.
So tonight we are going out for my birthday to one of the local watering holes with some friends and I think my parents too and then tomorrow a family birthday party for my cousin and I!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Valentine’s Day weekend!
