NOLA

So my best friend Jill and I flew to New Orleans for a girl’s weekend October 2nd through the 5th. This was the first time I have ever been on a plane in my entire life. I have never been to an Air Port either so this was quite the experience. Lucky for me Jill was super supportive and told me to cool my shit when it was needed. Which was only when we took off and landed, flying down to NOLA.

Once we finally got into the air I was ok, but the Jack and Coke helped calm my nerves. Jill took a nap but I was wound too tight to even consider taking a nap. We landed in New Orleans just after 1pm, and holy fish tank! The air port smelled so bad like a fish tank, I don’t know if its because we were so close to the water or what but it smelled so bad.

The airport was super hot and crowded, and it took forever to get our luggage from baggage claim. Once we got our bags we had to go rent a car, on a side note, next time we go back we will not be renting a car but that’s a long story. So after we rented a car we were off to the hotel. Of course not before we drove on the autobahn. I swear the speed limit sign was more of a suggestion, not one car was going 60mph. so Jill’s freaking out in the passenger seat while I’m trying to stay focused.

So we made it to the hotel around 4pm and put everything in the room and decided to take a walk and explore a little bit. We probably walked at least 3 miles Thursday night. We stopped at a restraint called Jax (I Think) and had Brisket Fries and Alligator popcorn. Yes we tried Alligator and I actually liked it.

We were on our way back to the hotel and this giant rat ran in front of us and when I say giant I mean the size of a small cat. This sucker was huge!

So after we got back to the hotel we decided that it would be a good idea to swim and then go to the casino across the street. So we swam until about 10pm and then got ready and went to the casino. We sat at the bar and drank Hurricane after Hurricane, and the thing with those little suckers they sneak up on you. So I was a little drunk, to the point that when we went to leave I kept tell Jill I was ready to cross the street. We stood across the street for about 20 minutes because for whatever reason I didn’t want to cross the street. This was one of those you have to be there moments.

So the weekend flew by in a blur and we had a blast. From this homeless guy trying to put beads on us to trying my first beignets. It was a weekend to remember and I am so glad I got to experience it with my best friend.
