Happy February

So it’s already Valentine’s Day weekend, which means I am now officially 22! This post is kind of an update on what has been going on lately in our life.
So for those of you who follow me on FB know I recently quit my job. I took a higher position with a different company and it all happened so fast, not that I am not grateful but it happened a lot quicker than I actually anticipated. So far I love it though and everything is going smooth. My birthday was the 13th, I worked all day then came home to my favorite food; pulled pork BBQ and my homemade cheesy potatoes. So yummy! AND my best friend and her daughter came over for dinner and she surprised me with a cake. Later that night Jesse and I went to see Endless Love for our movie outing. It was really good! But we lucked out because there were only 5 other couples in the whole theater so it wasn't overly crowded. We had a potluck at work for February birthdays and Valentin’s day so I made my Oreo Cupcakes for that. We stayed home for Valentine’s Day this year, which was fine by me. A nice clam night at home watching Netflix and just hanging out with each other. I made mini icebox cakes for a Valentine’s Day treat at home hopefully I’ll get the recipe up soon.
Today my grandma and I gave blood together and then came home. Crazy fun Saturday I know! Any who for my Birthday Jesse got me Naked 3 and I am so stoked! I haven’t used it yet so I asked my dad if I could try it out on him first to see how it would look. Mind you I only wanted to try my eye shadow on him, and he wanted to put the rest on so please by all means enjoy the pictures below, believe me when I say the pictures are nowhere near as funny as being here in person.
So this is what my family does on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Gosh these people drive me nuts but I love them to pieces an sometimes they can be kind of fun.
So tonight we are going out for my birthday to one of the local watering holes with some friends and I think my parents too and then tomorrow a family birthday party for my cousin and I!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Valentine’s Day weekend!

Weekend fun

I have really been missing my blog! I love to do posts, but I don’t want to bore people with my “boring” life when I have nothing to talk about. I have been working a lot lately, and working on a wedding invitation design for my mom’s friend, and not eating right (go figure). I did however lose 10 lbs in the first week of my diet, and then fell off the band wagon. I am not giving up though! I won’t give up this time! I NEED my hunter boots, ok well maybe not need them but I really want them and I won’t buy them until I have lost the weight to get that reward. Yes, I am doing the “reward” system for myself, because losing weight should be something I am proud of and I think that if people are rewarded when they achieve a goal they are more likely to succeed in the long run. So that is an update on the weight loss part of this. Moving on!
Jesse finally got me new chalk for my chalk boards! I was so excited because I was stuck drawing on the white board at work, but not anymore! I did this last night when I wasn’t feeling good, so I didn’t take my time at all I just wanted to break in my new chalk and then Kylie decided to draw on both of my boards tonight rather than the blank one.
We (Jesse mainly) have been lucky enough to get to spend time with Kylie (my best friends daughter) two times a week, and because I had the day off today we did a craft. It didn’t turn out how I planned it to, but what do you expect with a 2 year old. The picture turned out cute anyways, and I had a big mess to clean up after. I wanted to take pictures, but unfortunately I was covered in paint too and didn’t feel like scrubbing paint off my phone once we were done.

Not much too really update on, it’s hard to believe that January is already almost over!

New Year, New Me!

I try to keep my posts VERY real and down to earth, I hate when I read a blog or anything for that matter where the "people are perfect". I am far from perfect and I don't ever want to be perfect. The imperfections are what make us all so unique and special, and I hope I never come across in a way where people think I have a perfect life.
I hate making resolutions! I hate them with a passion, most of the time because I make very unrealistic ones. With that being said I decided this year to make some more realistic ones and reward myself when I have completed them(more so for weight loss).
So this year I vow to actually lose get rid of the weight because I don’t plan for it to EVER find its way back to me, and I've made it known to my family, friends, a few co-workers, and now all of you so I will be held responsible, when I try to stuff my face with those yummy Oreo cupcakes I make or when I’m having a bad day and try to eat my weight in food. No more! This will be the year I do it, because I really want to get a pair of those cute Hunter Rain Boots, but my calves are too fat to fit into them right now (maybe not, but that’s what I keep telling myself). So I vow not only to lose weight to look good but to be healthy. Not just for me but for my husband, and our future kids. I will try to do an update maybe once a month for the weight loss stuff.
I vow to TRY to be a better wife to my husband. Lord knows I am not the nicest to him. He is so good to me, and doesn't complain at all too much, when I get mad at him. He is my rock, best friend, and the love of my life and I need to show that a heck of a lot more to him because it’s us against the world!
I vow to be a better Christian. Growing up I ALWAYS went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. And I loved it, but the older I got, church and GOD didn't seem as important to me. I realize that I need GOD in my life. I am a lot happier and more at peace with myself when I do go to church. So with the New Year I vow to make GOD and the church a priority in my life.
And last but not least I vow to be a better person, to make time for just me, to be a better daughter and sister, to not fly off the handle when something doesn't go my way. To not be selfish, and rude, to be quick to listen and slow to speak, to not be so angry with my family when they do something I don’t like.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Holidays

Christmas has come and gone and now it’s already New Year’s Eve (well tomorrow)! I can’t get over how fast this year has gone, and now a new one is here. Christmas eve eve I made my cheesy potatoes(Ill post the recipes soon) and Oreo cupcakes for work and was up until about 1:30 am and then had to be to work at 7:45 am till noon. I had 10 customers from 8 am till noon! Talk about a snore fest, but lucky for me, I had a white board to keep me busy most of the morning.
Not the best, but it will do.
So I made the New Year’s white board for work. After work I went home and finished wrapping gifts and took a little nap. I put the cheesy potatoes in the oven and then my family and I went to church for the Christmas Eve service that they have every year. That night after church we had cheesy potatoes and Italian beef (a tradition we have done for as long as I can remember) then my aunt and uncle come over and we opened gifts and watched FireProof. If you haven’t seen that movie I highly recommend seeing it. It is such a great movie with an awesome message.
Christmas day is normally at my other aunt and uncle’s house, but they all got sick on Christmas Eve so it was at my grandparents’ house. So our house was filled with family, lots of food, and great company. We had Christmas with his family and opened gifts with them later that night for dinner.
We went to see The Wolf of Wall Street at the movies…it was OK I guess..There weren't any movies that we really wanted to see.
Work as usual on Thursday and Friday so not much fun there. Friday night after work we went to Janesville, WI for the Holiday Light Show. I LOVED it! It was a little cold, but so worth it. The car ride was about 45 min each way, but we were in the hurry. We got some hot cocoa, walked around and looked at all lights. They were so pretty and we can’t wait to go back next year.

Saturday & Sunday I was so lazy! I stayed in bed all day Saturday (except when I had to go get cat litter) and watched Desperate Housewives, and finished the last season on Sunday.  So today it was back to work, and tomorrow I get off at 4. I doubt we will do anything for New Year’s Eve, but nothing is set in stone yet. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and have a safe and happy New Years!

In sickness and in health

I am finally starting to feel better .These past few weeks I have felt like crap, and just couldn't get up the energy to do a post. So here is a quick update on what’s been going on, which isn't a whole lot
I managed to get strep (for the first time) throat, and felt awful! I am just now starting to feel better and get back to normal everyday life. Jesse picked up some Winter Jack for me and warmed it up in the microwave, which help my throat somewhat. It was sorta like a hot tottie.

Between getting ready for Christmas and the New Year things have been a little crazy at our house.  This year I am helping make Christmas Eve dinner, so I found and tested a recipe for cheesy potatoes that we will have along with Italian Beef. We have had that every year on Christmas Eve for as long as I remember.
Yesterday I worked and then finally got some Christmas shopping done with my grandma. Me and Jess were supposed to take a ride to Janesville but never made it because we were supposed to get a snow storm last night. It didn't end up snowing until later but we stayed home and wrapped gifts instead. We ended the night by watching Were the Millers, and playing with the cat; crazy Saturday night, I know!
Today I got up and baked 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and made cinnamon rolls. Tomorrow night I will make my Oreo cupcakes with homemade cookies and cream frosting, and maybe some Oreo balls. Now however I am going to do some more Christmas shopping and hopefully wrap the rest of the gifts.
Only a few days till Christmas, and I cant wait!

Happy December

Who doesn't love Christmas! I mean really, well I officially baked for the first time of the Christmas season. My yummy Oreo cupcakes, but sadly I got too interested in Clark Griswold’s Christmas rant that I burnt the first batch...
Print of Clark Griswold's Famous Rant
And that is probably one of my favorite lines from the whole movie! So I whipped up another batch before going to bed.
Work has been crazy slow I can hardly stand it! So we I made a “days till Christmas” calendar on the white board. Clearly I need more stuff to do at work. And this was clearly take a day or so ago.
and one of my favorite things about the holidays is I can order my white chocolate peppermint mocha from Starbucks without being judged by my husband when I order it in the middle of the summer, haha. Mmmm its seriously like Christmas in a cup. I could literally have that drink EVERY DAY if he would let me. But with this time of year also comes the peppermint brownie cake pops from Starbucks
and the super yummy candy cane blizzard from DQ which only comes out in December (sometimes) so you best believe I was beyond thrilled when I saw it was back. So now it’s time to sit on the couch, eat my candy cane blizzard and watch Christmas vacation (again), and then the Grinch for the first time this year.
